It’s been a while since I posted last. But I didn’t realize it’s been SO long since I posted. Wow. My life has been a whirlwind of activity lately. I signed up for the “Almost Alone with David Williams” photography workshop. It is going to be incredible. I’m so excited — only two weeks to go. But those two weeks will be jam-packed. I’m tagging along with Susan Stripling in a wedding on June 14, and before all of that I need to get my portfolio together and print out all the photos that inspire me. I’m working on all that.
Otherwise things have been very busy! Matt was in his former Clemson roommate’s wedding on May 3rd, and I was able to take over 1500 photos of both the rehearsal dinner and the wedding. I got shots of the girls getting ready, the guys playing guitar hero, and crazy shenanigans at the reception. The official photographer was very nice and let me take photos whenever I wanted, as long as I wasn’t shooting the shots they set up. So I didn’t get any formal shots (but Bott and Katie will have a lot of really nice formal shots from their photographer).
Then two weeks later we went to Walt Disney World with my family. It was ridiculously fun. Having my nieces there is always a treat. Matt and I did the first annual “EPCOT Hat Tour” – we tried on a hat in every country (except Germany and Italy) and took a picture of our selves (with the point and shoot — we didn’t want to drag my huge DSLR with us everywhere). We also got to ride the new Toy Story ride at Disney’s Hollywood Studios (was MGM Studios) during a special passholder weekend. I didn’t know there were so many passholders. We waited for over an hour for the ride!
Then we stayed at Castaways on Sanibel Island with my entire family — including my cousins. It was a great weekend, but we are still catching up on sleep. Thankfully I finished editing many of my photos there so I’ll be posting updates soon.
And on the last note, the real reason I’ve been extremely busy is that my wonderful husband tore his ACL and lateral meniscus while playing Ultimate Frisbee. We’ve been back and forth to Fort Myers visiting his doctor, Bo Kagan, to find out what was wrong. We’ve scheduled surgery for June 27, so if you think of us on that day, say a little prayer for us. I’m sure he’ll be fine and maybe even better than before he had the surgery (he’s needed to get his meniscus fixed for a while). But he won’t be able to walk for a week or two, then he can’t do anything active for a few months. We likely won’t be playing Ultimate until June of next year.
So that’s this past month. Enjoy some of our favorite pictures!
