Denise & Jeremy are Getting Married! December 31, 2008

Denise and Jeremy met while teaching in South Korea. They are quite possibly the two funnest people to be around – they have that perfect combination of goofiness and spunk. We had such a great time hanging out together. Here are just a handful of some of the shots we got!

I have been working throughout most of December getting my website together.  It has been an interesting journey and I’ve really enjoyed pulling together photos, describing my business, and  putting some final touches on the site.  And here it is:

Merry [belated] Christmas!

I wrote this on Christmas Eve — then we had to leave before it was published.  Read as if it was published Dec. 24.

Merry Christmas everyone! Matt and I are driving to his mom’s house tonight for Christmas, then we are staying at my sister’s house overnight and waking up with her two little girls. I am SO excited — it will be a lot of fun to watch them the next morning. But I’m REALLY excited that we are going to our church’s Christmas Eve service. Life gets so busy that we all forget what is actually important during this season. Christ IS the reason for the season – not presents or trees or lights or garland. I am actually glad that we have less money to spend this year, because it really helps us focus on what’s important. Anyway, I thought I would post a few pictures we took together with Matt’s brother, Danny. We wanted to give their mom something really special this year, and we figured something we made would mean more to her than something we bought. So we made her Christmas photos of us! We really had to think on our feet since all ambient light was gone by the time we started shooting.  I borrowed a christmas gift mom got for me and we had some fun doing a few goofy poses.

Kelly and Sebastian are Married! December 15, 2008

Filed under: Uncategorized — Deb @ 11:46 am

Kelly and Sebastian had one of the most enjoyable weddings I have been to.  They rented a house on the beach at Boca Grande and were married in a little chapel on the beach. Right after the wedding, we went to the lighthouse for a few pictures and scurried back to the house for the reception.  The details were out of this world — and I was floored when I learned that her mother and relatives had made all the food, including the cake.  And they did their own flowers as well.  Kudos on having such talented relatives! And Kudos on knowing where to save and where to splurge. There were so many wonderful photos from this wedding, I’ll have to limit it to just a few:

Julia & Noel are Getting Married

Matt and I had an awesome time hanging out with Julia and Noel at Lowdermilk Park the day before Thanksgiving.  Noel happened to be in town, and we wanted to get some engagement shots while we had that option!  I am very excited to be shooting their wedding early in February.  Here are a few of our fun shots from the night.

Senior Shoot December 10, 2008

Filed under: Uncategorized — Deb @ 12:48 pm

The Refuge group at church (post-college/career group) helps out with the Senior’s Christmas party every year.  When I say senior, I mean your grandma’s age, not the high school senior!   Matt and I volunteered to take pictures of everyone there, so we got there early and set up our light rig.  Poor Matt had to stand there for a long time while I set up the light, tried it out, then moved it and tried it out again. We were going for something a bit more dramatic.  I wanted to post a few pictures of the refuge “kids” that helped out.
